Most trips that go wrong at the airport go wrong because of the passport. Check these three things first.
Six months of validity
Most countries need your passport to be valid for at least six months after the day you arrive. Renew early if yours is close.
Blank pages
Keep at least two blank pages for visas and stamps. Some embassies refuse passports without them.
